ECE
Playground:
Early Childhood Education playgrounds were designed and completed
during the summer of 2006 as part of the Vision 50 plan.
Professional
Development for Faculty:
As part of our V50 goal to create and sustain an exemplary vibrant
culture of continuous learning and professional development for our
faculty, these action items have been completed:

New compensation
package to provide competitive salary and benefits.

Create new
evaluation and compensation model to recognize faculty for effective
teaching & student learning, involvement in professional
development, leadership in educational community and collegial
efforts with other faculty. (Piloting in 2008-2009)

Spearheading Bay
Area Teacher Development Collaborative program for new teacher
training

UCLA School of
Management workshops to strengthen SHS professional learning
community

Intensive
workshop series focus on teaching young children writing skills for
all Lower School faculty

Advanced
technology teaching techniques using website and smartboards

Summer Grants to
support faculty in scientific research in geology, and experiential
classes at Williamsburg Teaching Institute, Philadelphia and
Washington D.C. to advance methods of student learning

New teacher
intern program designed and initiated
Conflict Resolution:
On-going student training in peer mediation and Club Ophelia
Increased Diversity:
Student diversity is 30%. Our goal is 35% by 2012-13
