Components

            

Hunt Hall Expansion -

  • Expressive and Performing Arts Hall – New space for dramatic productions, speech and debate competitions, Middle School assemblies and guest speakers.  Sloped seating for 130.

  • Dedicated Space for Expressive Arts – Middle School classroom designed specifically for integration of art, music, drama, speech, and media literacy.

  • After School Sports, Physical Education, and Faculty Wellness – Gym expansion for two side-by-side physical education classrooms & after school practice courts.  Auditorium seating for 250 spectators.  Faculty well ness facility. Sound-proofing of gym.

  • Science – 50% expansion of lab stations to increase number of student learning centers and education demonstration areas.  Outside lab area includes astronomy turret and weather station.

  • Language Arts – Expansion of existing classrooms and creation of 3 new rooms to double number of language arts and writing classes.

  • Foreign Language – High-tech language labs to improve individual student learning.  Provides enlarged classrooms. Increases number of languages offered.

  • Electronic Arts Classroom and Multimedia Control Room – Innovative programs in technology to allow for student broadcasts, interactive web and graphic design, video editing and historic podcasts.

  • Outside Classroom Space – Beautified outdoor area with tables for instruction in areas of curricula.

Endowment -

  • Endowment Growth - Grow the endowment to $2.5 million in order to begin to meet the Vision 50 goal of $5 million by 2012.  The increased endowment will augment professional development for teachers, increase tuition assistance, and supplement salaries and benefits.

Faculty Enhancements -

  • Professional Development – Increase funds to support professional growth, leadership, and collegiality. Annual summer grants for innovative teaching.

  • Competitive Salary and Benefits -  Create (in collaboration with faculty) a new compensation system that recognizes faculty for their effective teaching and student learning and for their involvement in their professional development, leadership in the educational community, and their collegial efforts with one another.
