Vision 50 Statement, approved, 2006

As a strong and financially stable institution with the highest quality programs and facilities, The Seven Hills School will be a leading educational community that: dedicates extensive resources to the ongoing development of a professional and talented faculty and staff; establishes a diverse and inclusive community that promotes respectful relationships with all people and the environment in which we live; and cultivates a vibrant culture of continuous learning and improvement.

 

Vision 50 Accomplishments since 2006

 

Program

  • Expanded professional development program, increasing leadership and collaboration opportunities

  • Established Professional Learning Community program focused on student learning

  • Moved faculty compensation to top 1/3 of peer schools to attract, develop and retain quality faculty and staff

  • Created and piloting new faculty evaluation system in 2010-2011, based on leadership, collegiality, professional development and contribution to school life

  • Qualified as teacher training site

  • Increased tuition assistance

  • Added student training and formal class in conflict resolution and restorative justice

  • Parent Involvement Association (PIA) participating in learning community

  • Established strong Diversity Connections Committee to increase dialogue on diversity, inclusion, and focus on respectful relationships on Board, faculty and staff, PIA and in student body

Facilities…

  • New Early Childhood Education play yard for PS, PK and Kindergarten

  • New Middle School Science lab-doubled and improved lab stations, equipment, storage

Program…

  • Double the amount of MS Language Arts classes

  • Increase Foreign Language classroom space and acquire software program accessible to all

  • Focus on Science and environmental stewardship…”leave no child indoors”

  • Seamless integration of technology as a supportive function of educational program

  • Integrated MS expressive and performing arts center

  • Increased physical education, wellness, and expanded sports opportunities

Facilities…

  • Expansion of Hunt Hall: two-story Classroom Wing and enlarged Gym

  • Developing green and sustainable energy efficient policies, practices, and construction
