Welcome to Middle School Spanish! My name is Sra. Deborah DeMaria and I teach Spanish to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. I have been part of the Seven Hills community for twelve years and I have been teaching languages for 30 years. I have lived and taught students all over the world, in countries such as The Netherlands, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Philippines, and the United States. I am from Puerto Rico and I love my culture very much. I try to put “spark” into my teaching of Spanish on a daily basis.

 

There is a famous saying that states “Somos mas iguales que diferentes…pero VIVA la diferencia” We are more similar than different…but hurray for our differences”.

 

Every human being is similar. We speak and try to communicate with one another constantly. “The more languages you know the more opportunities you have of sharing your life with others in the world.”

 

At Seven Hills, the foreign language educators want to help you though the process of learning more than one foreign language. I teach Spanish at our school; however, you are also able to learn French.

The world is getting smaller, folks.  Travel is getting cheaper, and more common. You will have the opportunity to meet more people from all over the world in your lifetime than your parents did.  “Whether you are traveling to another country or you meet someone in your home country, knowing another language is invaluable.”

My goal as a Seven Hills teacher of foreign language, is help you explore those possibilities.
