Admissions Checklist for the 2013-14 School Year

Priority Application Deadline: January 31, 2013

Priority Admissions Decisions Mailed: March 7, 2013

Applications received after the January 31st deadline will be considered on a space-available basis

  • Request Tour Signup: Please Sign-up online or call 925.933.0666.
  • Submit Application and $100 application fee online by January 31, 2013. Early submittal is encouraged.
  • Parent Interview: The Director of Admissions will call to schedule this meeting.
  • Student Visits: You will receive a phone call from the Director of Admissions to schedule your child’s visit.

    Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten: You and your child will be invited to spend 30 minutes visiting the class. Teachers will be available to address questions. 

    Kindergarten: Your child will be invited to come for a visit on Saturday, February 9th. The 90-minute small group visit will include an individual evaluation.  Visit times will be determined and communicated to parents.

    1st  Grade: Your child will be invited to come for a half-day class visit, which will also include an individual evaluation.

    2nd-8th Grade: Your child will be invited for a full-day class visit.

  • Student Testing: 

    2nd-5th Grade:   Our test administrator will contact you to schedule a test date beginning in early December.

    6th- 8th Grade:    Students  may choose to take our proprietary test (and will be contacted by our test administrator) or the ISEE (which is administered at Seven Hills,  and other local schools).  ISEE results should be sent directly to the Admissions Office at Seven Hills School.

  • Request Teacher Recommendations from your child’s teachers:
    We use a common East Bay Independent School Association (EBISA) Teacher Recommendation form.  Blank forms are included in the admissions packet and online.  Seven Hills requires recommendations from the following teachers:
    • Your child’s current teacher
    • Your child’s teacher from last year

    Parents should sign the forms prior to providing them to the teachers. Once completed, the recommendations should be sent directly to the Seven Hills Admissions Office.  All information furnished on the recommendation forms is confidential and will only be used for Admissions purposes. The Teacher Recommendation Forms will not be disclosed to the applicant and his or her family.

    For PS/PK:  Please use the Kindergarten Teacher Recommendation Form.

  • Submit School Records:

    Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten: Please submit copies of any summaries or progress reports.

      1st- 8th grades: Please submit copies of your child’s report cards for the past two years, in addition to this year’s most recent report card. Please include any testing results, as well.
  • Provide Optional Photos: Photos are very helpful and appreciated by the Admissions Committee

Admissions decisions will be mailed on March 7, 2013 and responses are due back to Seven Hills by March 15, 2013.
