Serving Preschool Through 8th Grade in the San Francisco East Bay Since 1962
“This is such an amazing trip -- one that our family has enjoyed for many years! Our son’s experience was no exception, and we are so very grateful for him to have had the opportunity to join you this year. Clearly, the success of the program is heavily dependent on the commitment of its leaders, and we want to express to you how much of an impact that this program has had on both of our children. Thank you for your dedication to such a worthy cause and to the students of our community. We are so fortunate that our kids can learn many important lessons about stewardship to our earth under your great example!”

Science

Through sixth, seventh and eighth grade, the Middle School science program prepares students for success in high school and advanced studies, with a broad foundation of scientific knowledge, enthusiasm for a variety of fields of science, experience with the design process, and a variety of engineering, lab, and workshop skills.  The course format includes a large number of experiments, design challenges, and many other "hands-on/heads-on" opportunities.

Units of study include all of the major fields of science, as well as historical perspectives on the development of modern scientific understanding.  Geology, chemistry, biology, human physiology and anatomy, electrical and mechanical engineering, astronomy, and physics are all topics explored in Middle School science.
