Seven Hills Hires Next Head of Middle School

It is with great pleasure that Seven Hills announces the appointment of Dan Meyers as its next Head of Middle School.
It’s an exciting time to be at Seven Hills!

Following the retirement announcement by Scott Espinosa-Brown last fall, we launched an extensive nationwide search to help us go about the process of naming a new Head of Middle School. It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Dan Meyers as Seven Hills’ next Head of Middle School.

Dan has nearly 20 years of educational experience and is currently serving as Assistant Head of School/Dean of Faculty at The Ethel Walker School, a girls’ grade 6-12 boarding and day school in Simsbury, CT. Prior to Ethel Walker, he was Associate Head of School for Academics at Mercy High School in San Francisco. He has also held positions as an AP United States History teacher, speech & debate director, and academic advisor at several schools. He has a B.A. in history from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a M.A. in educational leadership from Santa Clara University. He also serves on the boards of Horizons and Voices Foundation.

During his visit day at Seven Hills, Dan said:

I was drawn to Seven Hills’ strong programs, bold whole child philosophy, reputation, leadership team, and mission and vision grounded in equity and service. Seven Hills and the East Bay also represent a return home for me and my family. I look forward to immersing myself in the life of Seven Hills—I will help build theater sets, cheer loudly for the Jaguars, attend performances, and get to know each student on their terms.

Dan, his wife, and their toddler will officially join our community this July.

Of course, we will also have many opportunities to say farewell to Scott Espinosa-Brown and celebrate his lifetime of service as an educator and his “graduation” with the Class of 2020. He will always be a part of our Seven Hills family and will be honored at this year's All-Alumni Reunion on Saturday, June 6. Stay tuned for more information.

Gratefully,

Kathleen McNamara
