3rd - 5th Grade
Students in grades 3–5 deepen conceptual understanding and build fluency, preparing for more abstract reasoning in middle school. Each year begins with the Week of Inspirational Math, a series of engaging videos and activities developed by Stanford professor Jo Boaler.
These lessons nurture a growth mindset and encourage resilience, perseverance, flexible thinking, collaboration, and the confidence to tackle challenges and learn from mistakes.
We use the
Investigations 3 curriculum—a rigorous, standards-aligned program that promotes deep understanding through hands-on exploration, rich discussion, and open-ended problem-solving. Instruction is flexible and responsive, with groupings that shift to meet students’ evolving needs. In addition to
Investigations, we use a blend of materials to provide a well-rounded learning experience for our learners, including:
- Beast Academy
- Context For Learning
- IXL
- Marcy Cook
- Math In Focus
- Bridges
- The Problem Solver
Our approach includes:
- Differentiated small-group instruction
- Targeted pull-outs and push-ins
- Extension and challenge opportunities
- Homework that supports practice and stretches learning
- High-quality math tasks and materials
