Lower School

In the Lower School, art becomes a vibrant thread in each child’s school experience. Students explore a wide variety of media—drawing, painting, sculpture, weaving, collage, and more. As they grow, they begin to study artists from around the world and learn how art connects us across time and culture.
Through this work, students are introduced to the Elements of Art—line, shape, color, texture, and value—and the Principles of Design, such as balance, rhythm, and contrast. Projects are process-driven, with an emphasis on building confidence, respecting each other’s originality, and finding joy in creative expression.
