Early Childhood
In Rainbow and Red Barn, science comes alive through sensory-rich encounters with the natural world. Children explore elements such as water, light, plants, and soil—strengthening their observation skills, asking questions, noticing patterns, and testing their ideas through hands-on play.
Eco-literacy is woven into the week: children care for gardens, visit the chicken coop, observe insects, and embark on nature walks where they collect leaves, listen for birds, or notice seasonal changes. These experiences reflect the Reggio belief in the environment as a 'third teacher' and lay a meaningful foundation for scientific thinking.
