3rd - 5th Grade

As students grow, they tackle increasingly complex scientific challenges. Project-based learning invites teamwork, research, data collection, and presentation. STEAM projects blend science with technology, engineering, art, and math, sparking creativity and innovation. A collaborative teaching model and flexible groupings provide personalized support and extended time for hands-on exploration.
Students connect scientific principles to the world around them through activities like maintaining a school garden, conducting chemistry experiments, and studying the impact of water on Earth. Outdoor education trips to WOLF School in Santa Cruz (4th Grade) and Yosemite National Park (5th Grade) deepen this connection, giving students the opportunity to explore ecosystems, geology, and sustainability in immersive natural settings.

Sample Units:
  • Life Science: Structures of living organisms and ecosystems
  • Physical Science: Matter, motion, and energy
  • Earth Science: Water cycles, weather patterns, and environmental change
