• Q: Does an application for Modified Tuition affect a student’s chances of admission to the school?

  No. A family’s financial need does not affect a student’s chance of acceptance to Seven Hills. Modified Tuition is determined separately, independent of admissions decisions, and both are made without regard to race, color, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, or ethnic origin.

• Q: Does Seven Hills offer payment plans?

  Seven Hills families can pay tuition with a one-time payment or in 10 payments throughout the year. You can choose a multi-payment plan when you submit your enrollment agreement.

• Q: What if my income changes during the school year and I am having difficulty paying tuition?

  We expect that families will share with us any material changes in their financial circumstances – for better or for worse – that might justify an equitable adjustment in their family’s contribution. If your family faces economic hardship due to an income change, please get in touch with Susanne Goldman to discuss your financial situation and determine the next steps. Seven Hills is committed to doing our best to support our families through difficult financial periods.

• Q: Is it necessary to apply for Modified Tuition in order to be admitted to Seven Hills?

  No. Families not applying for Modified Tuition will be expected to pay the maximum tuition listed.

• Q: How do I know if my family is eligible for Modified Tuition?

  For Seven Hills to determine the level of tuition for which a family qualifies, the Clarity application must be completed by the family in its entirety.

• Q: How does Seven Hills determine a family’s Modified Tuition?

  Seven Hills uses the Clarity application to assist in determining a family’s Modified Tuition. After families submit their required financial information to this third party, an independent and confidential resource, Clarity analyzes and recommends an amount a family should expect to pay. The Seven Hills Tuition Committee* uses this information as a baseline to further calculate tuition amounts for each family.

• Q: Does Seven Hills offer additional awards based on merit, athletic, or artistic ability?

  No. The Modified Tuition model is based solely on financial need.

• Q: When will a family learn if they qualify for a Modified Tuition?

  Admission acceptance letters (sent in mid-March) will include a separate response regarding Modified Tuition.

• Q: If I expect that my circumstances would only require a small tuition reduction, should I still apply for Modified Tuition?

  Yes. Seven Hills recognizes that, for some families, even a small modification to tuition can make a critical difference.

• Q: What if my family receives a Modified Tuition that we feel we cannot afford?

  Seven Hills’ Modified Tuition program is determined by the demonstrated need of each individual family. That said, we encourage families who want to revisit the amount to reach out to Susanne Goldman.

• Q: Does a family have to reapply for Modified Tuition annually, or does the student stay in the program until graduation?

  The family must reapply each year to continue receiving modified tuition. Tuition amounts are subject to any changes in their economic circumstances (change in job, number of students in tuition-paying schools, etc.).

• Q: In the case of parents/guardians who do not live together (e.g., divorced, separated, never married), do both households have to submit financial information?

  Yes. Each parent/guardian household must submit a Clarity application to be considered for Modified Tuition.

• Q: What if my family has unusual circumstances?

  If there is additional information regarding your financial situation not considered by the Clarity application, please upload a supplemental letter to the “Additional Documents” section of Clarity.

• Q: Will my information be kept confidential?

  Yes. Seven Hills maintains strict confidentiality regarding the financial circumstances of our families. No one outside of the The Seven Hills School Tuition Committee has access to these documents or is aware of which families receive a Modified Tuition amount.
