Jobs at Seven Hills

Seven Hills teachers are compassionate and experienced lifelong learners; they are well-versed in current research and educational trends that positively affect student learning. They are actively involved in curriculum development, planning, and implementation within their classrooms and the wider school community. Creativity and innovation are encouraged and supported in order for teachers to engage their students through inspiring classroom experiences.

Professional Development and Leadership
Seven Hills is a professional learning community where all faculty members participate in cross-grade, cross-discipline groups. These groups meet to 1) share best practices, 2) seek feedback on specific lessons, evaluations, and curriculum challenges, and 3) discuss thought-provoking articles and ideas that inspire new approaches to teaching. Seven Hills teachers also served as mentors for new faculty and technology integration.

In addition, Seven Hills provides off-campus opportunities for professional development directly related to self-assessment and professional goals. Seven Hills teachers participate in, address, and lead workshops and conferences with their peers each year. From technology and Professional Learning Communities to innovative writing instruction and mentoring, Seven Hills teachers are at the forefront of their profession as independent school educators.

As active members of CAIS (California Association of Independent Schools), WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), and NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools), Seven Hills’ teachers participate in and lead committees that help set the agenda for these organizations. On campus, our teachers lead committees on compensation, curriculum development, the Japanese exchange program, technology, and DEIB, to name a few.

Collegiality
Seven Hills teachers work in an environment of collegiality, which provides the inspiration, support, and professional counsel needed to excel. From preschool through eighth grade, our teachers contribute to, and celebrate each others’ success.
